Overload Collection

The Collection Overload was an experimental endeavor where I hand-painted silk dresses sourced from various online vendors. This exploration aimed to identify the best fabrics conducive to achieving an elegant style through painting. I experimented with materials like silk, cotton, polyester, and faux leather, seeking the most effective approach for bringing my envisioned ideas to life. You can find the detailed process of this exploration on my Instagram.

This collection stemmed from a surge of creative inspiration I experienced, prompting me to delve into three distinct elements, two of which were experimental. One facet involved painting on waste corsets and pairing them with different dresses to explore the most appealing combinations. The second element focused on experimenting with various fabrics to determine their durability and maintenance post-painting. Overall, this collection served as a significant experimental phase for me and my audience, offering valuable insights.

Amidst this experimental journey, I gained crucial knowledge on achieving an elegant yet hand-painted aesthetic. Additionally, I introduced a few hand-painted shirts toward the collection's conclusion. While these ideas materialized towards the end of creating the hand-painted pieces, all items in the collection, except for the shirts, were physically hand-painted. 'Collection Overload' encapsulates a multitude of ideas that had been swirling in my mind, waiting to be brought to life on canvas.
