Bangkok Rani holds immense significance in my life; it was a pivotal part of my journey. Growing up, I grappled with a profound connection to my identity and experienced a sense of confusion. My background is a blend of complexities – my father migrated from India at a young age, while my mother, born and raised in Thailand, embraced Indian heritage. This upbringing as a 'third culture kid' immersed me in both Thai and Indian cultures, yet I often felt like I didn't entirely belong to either. Navigating between these cultures and an international environment, attending a private International School, sparked a sense of identity crisis within me. I struggled to find my place and where I fit in as an individual. However, the creation of the Bangkok Rani collection became a defining moment that clarified and affirmed my sense of self. It also sought to represent countless other individuals, especially those of Indian descent growing up in Thailand, who share a similar cultural journey. This collection serves as a tribute to the remarkable Indian women I encountered while growing up. Through art, it aimed to bridge the gap between cultures, symbolizing the fusion and representation that many individuals like myself yearn for. Bangkok Rani embodies a cross-cultural celebration, offering a space where diverse backgrounds and identities can feel acknowledged and cherished.
